Monterey to San Francisco

Atalanta makes periodic trips from Monterey to San Francisco or back.
Each offshore leg is around 100 nautical miles, so a full day on the water. Meals underway, snacks and drinks included, and we try to coordinate return transportation at either end.
Perfect for those looking to gain offshore experience. We teach offshore sailing techniques underway, from navigation to sail handling to helming to cooking at sea. Active participation encouraged!
$495 for each leg including all food, drink, fuel, harbor fees, etc.

Channel Islands Explorer Voyage
Join Shearwater Sailing for an offshore sailing adventure from Monterey to California's spectacular Channel Islands. Sail the Pacific coast, explore Catalina and the remote northern islands, snorkel in crystal-clear coves, hike rugged island trails, and experience one of the most unique cruising grounds on the West Coast.
Guests may join the coastal leg from Monterey to the Channel Islands, the return voyage to Monterey, or both at no additional charge. Whether you're looking to build offshore miles, gain passage-making experience, or simply spend more time at sea, these optional sailing legs are included in the trip price.

ASA 106, Advanced Coastal Cruising
Shearwater Sailing is pleased to partner with Sail Monterey to offer ASA 106, Advanced Coastal Cruising. Departing from Monterey, California, sail on board our beautiful custom Farr 53 Atalanta for 4 days and 3 nights, honing your skills and earning the coveted ASA 106 certificate, which is your key to bare boat chartering around the world.
Topics covered include route and weather planning, reefing and advanced sail trim, rules of the road, night sailing techniques, navigation including use of radar, spinnaker handling, anchoring, and meal preparation underway.
Upon boarding, students will work with instructors to analyze conditions to determine route. Advanced Cruising Seamanship textbook is included with this course.
Prerequisites: ASA 104, 105
Cost is $2,500 for 4 days including ASA examination and certification.

Cancellation Policy
50% NON-REFUNDABLE deposit due at booking to hold a place on board, with the balance due 60 days prior to departure (credit card will be automatically billed). If client provides written notice of cancellation more than 60 days prior to departure, client will not be billed for the final 50% balance. If, after client has paid the balance and still decides to cancel for whatever reason, and Shearwater Sailing, LLC is able to re-book the berth, client will receive a full refund, minus an administration fee. Otherwise, if Shearwater Sailing, LLC cannot rebook the passage, client understands that within 60 days of departure, no refund or credit can be made for any reason including illness. Client understands that there are no exceptions to this policy. Client understands the importance of obtaining trip cancellation insurance, which is each client’s own responsibility to obtain. We recommend DAN Boater Travel Insurance. By checking 'agree' below, client agrees to all of the above.
If Shearwater Sailing, LLC cancels a trip for circumstances beyond our control, such as weather or other conditions, client will be issued a refund or 100% credit for a future trip. If a trip is cancelled due to weather, we will do our best to reschedule as soon as possible, with clients from the cancelled trip receiving priority.
Under no circumstance will Shearwater Sailing, LLC be liable for travel or any other expenses resulting from any cancelled event.
